This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Information Governance and Security (IG&S) Team are looking to recruit two team members with excellent interpersonal skills and an organised approach to take on the exciting role of Assistant Information Governance Officer. You will be a key member of a diverse and skilled information governance team.

You will support NHS Fife staff by advising and supporting on any queries in relation to the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011, Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004.

The post holder will assist the Information Governance and Security Advisors and Corporate Records Manager in all aspects relating to Information Governance and Records Management, with a primary focus on Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations and Data Subject Access Requests to ensure an efficient and effective service.

As part of this role, you will be a point of contact for telephone and email queries from the general public, patients and staff, and will be required to log all enquiries and requests for support via the IT ServiceDesk or similar system. This is an important role which requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills with the necessary knowledge and skills in relation to legislative requirements of NHS Fife as a public authority, gained from education and experience gathered in a similar role.
As we adapt to new ways of working the Information Governance Team supports hybrid working, however, require regular office-based work due to our responsibilities to the general public and enquiries we receive via mail and telephone.
