NHS Borders is a dynamic and forward-thinking team delivering high-quality psychiatric care within the General Adult Psychiatry service. This post is based in the Borders Adult Community Mental Health Teams in the Scottish Borders, offering the opportunity to contribute to service development within NHS Borders Mental Health Services.
The role is available as 1x Permanent post and 1x Fixed-Term post for 1 year.
The Role
New Specialty Doctor posts in General Adult Psychiatry are available within the Borders Adult Community Mental Health Teams. The successful applicants will provide medical support to the General Psychiatry service for these Sectors of the Scottish Borders, delivering care and promoting a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency approach. The successful applicant would be working in a Multi-disciplinary team made up of psychiatrists, resident doctors, clinical psychologists, clinical nurse specialists, community mental health nurses, occupational therapists, health care support workers, and peer support workers. Depending on interests and skills, a range of subspecialty, service leadership and other experiences can be included as part of the job plan. This is an opportunity for forward-thinking doctors to contribute to the further development of our services to provide the best psychiatric care to adult patients within NHS Borders Mental Health Services.
Qualifications and Experience
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice and adequate postgraduate training and/or Psychiatry specialty training experience (or equivalent).
* Approved Medical Practitioner status or willingness to gain approval once in post.
* MRC Psych or equivalent desirable.
