About the Role
A leading US law firm is seeking a Restructuring Associate to join their high-calibre team in London. The successful candidate will work alongside top-tier partners in cross-border corporate restructurings, distressed acquisitions and formal insolvency proceedings, with a particular emphasis on equity restructuring, debt for equity conversions and NewCo structuring.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise clients on complex cross-border corporate restructurings and distressed transactions
* Draft and negotiate equity restructuring plans, including debt for equity swaps
* Structure acquisitions via NewCo vehicles and coordinate joint venture investment platforms
* Assist with formal insolvency proceedings and distressed acquisitions
* Support transition and asset management initiatives for a diverse client base, including funds, banks, and insolvency office holders
Requirements
* Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 3–4 years of post-qualification experience
* Strong academic credentials and demonstrable track record in restructuring and insolvency work
* Experience with debt for equity transactions, distressed acquisitions or insolvency matters is essential
* Commercial awareness, attention to detail and ability to manage high-pressure situations effectively
* Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
