Harrods is looking for a visionary Restaurant Development Chef to shape the future of dining. This role combines creativity with commercial insight, ensuring new concepts are brought to life across our restaurants.
From menu and product development to ingredient sourcing, kitchen design, quality assurance, and recruitment, the Restaurant Development Chef transforms ideas into strategies that support Harrods’ growth and uphold our reputation for exceptional culinary experiences.
About The Role
The Restaurant Development Chef will lead product development and drive innovation while ensuring operational excellence. Responsibilities include tastings, menu launches, sourcing suppliers, and setting standards. Every project aims to shape the customer experience and elevate Harrods’ dining offering across UK and international sites.
Collaboration is key: the role works with colleagues across Restaurants, Kitchens, HR, Finance, and Marketing to deliver projects balancing creativity with commercial success. The role also influences chef development, overseeing training and mentoring through our Kitchens Academy to build a strong talent pipeline and foster a culture of learning, innovation, and excellence.

About You
You are a forward-thinking, commercially astute chef with a track record of menu innovation, leadership, and operational delivery in high-profile restaurant environments. You thrive in dynamic settings where creativity meets business impact and enjoy inspiring teams to elevate standards.
You will also:
* Identify, anticipate and interpret new trends and industry developments to keep Harrods at the forefront of dining innovation
* Be an inspired leader who drives change proactively
* Deliver tastings, sign-offs, and menu launches with creativity and precision
* Lead, mentor, and develop chefs at every level, championing progression and succession planning
* Ensure that food safety procedures are planned into kitchen designs and operational SOPs
