Job Responsibilities
* Become familiar with the project scope and collect preliminary information to begin developing the start-up plan. Develop a team charter and an effective communication process.
* Identify start-up implementation strategies, ensure that current operation assessment is developed and implemented. Ensure that a process for change management and reapplication of learnings is developed and used. Develop issue identification & resolution process. Provide direction, consistency and focus alongside training and coaching on start-up processes. Build capability within the team on lean manufacturing start up processes.
* Define the project’s criteria and start-up glide path and obtain approval from manufacturing management. Attend Factory Acceptance Test(s) for key equipment.
* Develop pre-commissioning and commissioning plans, identifying critical process and quality elements. Map activities within each phase and define their prerequisites.
* Evaluate site specific risks to implementation and initiate action to resolve. Contribute towards effective FMEA processes and site acceptance tests (SAT). Report project adherence to ramp up criteria to stakeholders.
* Develop technology, training & transfer plan alongside autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance, training, focused improvement, quality and safety teams with clear roles and responsibilities for delivery.
* Identify a hiring strategy where necessary and ensure materials quantity and quality are developed and aligned with start up needs.
* Develop a resource allocation plan in line with the project’s implementation schedule.
* Measure and record results on project progress and present within project team and to key stakeholders.
* Ensure project start up budgets are developed and controlled.

* Capability to lead teams to successful delivery against plan, coordinating activities with relevant cross‑functional departments.
* Positive mindset and a continuous improvement orientation.
* Capability to involve suppliers and other external interactions to prepare start‑up details.
* Ability to create a lean project management culture with a team.
* Decision making authority to own and be accountable for the commissioning and transition processes as well as key decision/review gates.
* Experience in a manufacturing, operational setting with ability to lead and direct others.
* Ability to motivate, present, deal with ambiguity, negotiate, plan and direct others to deliver.
