Overview
Female Support Practitioner - Waken Nights role at The Richmond Fellowship Scotland. This position is based in Scotlandwell, near Glenrothes. Due to the nature of the role, only female candidates who hold a full UK manual driving licence and have access to a car will be considered.
The Richmond Fellowship Scotland supports people in their everyday lives. This role is to support a female service user with Angelman’s syndrome, including personal care requirements. You will receive full training prior to starting and ongoing development opportunities, including in-house SVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care completion.
Responsibilities
* Social Support: helping individuals engage with their communities and attend outings to clubs and leisure activities (e.g., day centres, cinema, swimming).
* Medical Support: administering and monitoring medication.
* Personal Care: assisting with personal care needs, showering/bathing, dressing, arranging health visits, and incontinence care as required.
* Practical Support: supporting tenancy maintenance and daily household tasks such as general housework, laundry, ironing, cooking, and shopping.
Shift Pattern
* Waken nights. Initially some day shifts may be required for training.
* Two-week rolling rota: Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday; Week 2 – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
* Shift start time: 10:00 pm; finish time varies between 9:00 am and 10:00 am.

Requirements and Training
* A background in care is preferred, but training is provided for those without experience.
* Full training includes classroom sessions and e-learning; you will shadow current practitioners during the early phase.
* We finance and support you to achieve SVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care in-house.
