Position Overview:
We are looking for an
Operations Manager
, to join our dedicated, friendly and customer focused management team
based at our site in Eastbourne
.
This is a newly created position due to company growth.
You will be responsible for managing resources, implementing best practices, and ensuring customer requirements and delivery timelines are consistently achieved.
This will include tasks such as:
* Operational Management tasks
– Coordinate daily operations and provide guidance to the Operations team (Compliance, Purchasing and Facilities), monitor production schedules, ensure quality control standards are met, management of stock control and supply chain.
* Leadership & People Management –
Lead, motivate and develop operations staff, monitor staff training needs and requirements, promote a high performing and accountable culture and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
* Compliance & Security
* Ensure all operational activities comply with current standards and certifications, manage internal and external audits and provide corrective action where necessary, ensure integrity and confidentiality of secure printing processes.
* Process Improvement –
ensure cost and efficiency gains whilst maintaining security and quality, lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement new technology or systems to enhance operations.
* Reporting & Performance Monitoring
– Track KPI's and work closely with the Finance team to oversee budgets and costs as well as to prepare reports and updates for the leadership team.
Skills/experience we are looking for:
* Proven experience in an operations, HR, compliance or production management role
, ideally in a secure or regulated manufacturing environment
* Understanding of
lean manufacturing principles, quality management systems and continuous improvement initiatives
(Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizan)
* Demonstrated ability to
lead teams, manage performance, and build a positive team culture
* Excellent
organisational, planning, and decision-making
skills
* Strong
attention to detail
and commitment to maintaining high security and quality standards
* Familiarity with compliance frameworks and audit requirements
(e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
Not essential, but it would be great if you had:
* Previous experience in security printing or related industries (banking, government documents, etc.)
* Working knowledge of secure print technologies, data-driven print processes, or automated finishing equipment
* Experience with ERP or production management systems
* Relevant qualifications in Operations Management, Human Resources, or related discipline
