You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, gain fantastic exposure across the business, and play a key role in the implementation of a new ERP system.
The successful candidate will lead the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the Management Accounts team. This includes reviewing and enhancing the team’s structure, processes, and overall performance. A key responsibility will be to oversee the delivery of high-quality, timely monthly Management Accounts, while also guiding the department through the ERP transition.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, develop, and support the Management Accounts team, ensuring strong performance, high engagement, and clear career progression through effective training, development, and succession planning.
* Oversee all P&L transactional accounting activities, ensuring the accurate and timely production of monthly Management Accounts. Ensure the team delivers across the full month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations.
* Maintain adequate resource and capability to manage day-to-day operations while supporting ongoing process improvements and enhancements. Encourage knowledge sharing to ensure continuity during team absences.
* Review and optimise departmental processes and procedures to drive greater efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in Management Accounting practices.
* Ensure all processes are clearly documented, regularly reviewed, and consistently followed.
* Maintain a robust internal control environment and implement improvements in line with audit recommendations (both internal and external).
* Serve as the key point of contact for Management Accounting across the wider business, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) with a keen eye for detail.
* Experience of using an ERP system in addition to manipulating and analysing large volumes of data to support decision making.
* Has the confidence to challenge the way things have been done with aim of simplifying processes and freeing up resources.
* Highly effective communicator – written and oral with the ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
* Team management experience with a track record of development.
Salary and Benefits:
* £60,000 - £65,000
