We are now recruiting for a newly created position to work for a highly successful global wholesale bank based in the Central London (with hybrid/mixed model working). The CFO has built a solid Finance function with a good team culture and work environment. The bank is well capitalised with a healthy balance sheet and the organisation is stable, professional and well-run. As a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering upon the Bank’s financial and tax reporting obligations. Profile Criteria: Qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) accountant with well-rounded experience covering statutory accounts production, financial control, and tax reporting (regulatory reporting experience would be a bonus, but is not essential) Experience reporting under IFRS Banking sector experience preferred but open to wider financial services sector experience Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Good understanding of accounting standards Key responsibilities include: Preparing monthly Group financial returns. Producing statutory financial statements for three UK-based entities. Preparing corporation tax, VAT, and other tax filings. Submitting IFRS-based regulatory returns to the FCA (FINREP) and the Bank of England. Supporting other financial and regulatory reporting requirements as needed. The role also involves ownership of technical accounting matters and maintaining a strong governance framework over the financial reporting process, including balance sheet substantiation. As the Bank undergoes a significant change programme, the individual will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to provide technical accounting support and ensure reporting processes remain robust and compliant.
