Test Centre Associate – Southend
Reed in Partnership, a British family‑owned company, delivers public services. We are seeking a Test Centre Associate to support our DVSA driving theory test programme in Southend.
Responsibilities
* Invigilate and supervise driving theory tests.
* Check candidates’ ID documents and record details in the system.
* Maintain integrity and security of tests in accordance with DVSA standards.
* Explain the test process to candidates and support queries.
* Review test centre schedules and manage daily opening and closing procedures.
* Ensure the centre meets individual candidate needs in line with the Equality Act.
* Handle and report incidents that could impact candidate testing.
Work Schedule
Flexible pattern – part‑time or occasional shifts. Possible shift times include:
* Mornings – 8:30am to 1pm/2pm
* Afternoons – 12:30pm/1pm to 5:30pm/6:30pm
* Full day – 8:30am to 5:30pm/6:30pm
* Evenings – 4:30pm/5pm to 8:30pm/9:30pm
* Afternoons & evenings – 12pm/1pm to 8:30pm/9:30pm
The centre operates 4–5 days a week; main days are Monday–Thursday, with occasional Friday or Saturday openings. Candidates must be flexible for nights and weekends as required.
Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence (driving not required for all locations).
* Significant experience providing high‑quality customer service.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work under pressure and multitask within short timescales.
* Experience working with diverse customer groups.
* Excellent judgement and decision‑making skills.
* Flexibility in working hours and days, including evenings and Saturday.
* Calm, professional demeanor when dealing with confrontational candidates.
