Job Overview

Outwood Academy Riverside, founded in September 2020 through the Free Schools Programme, implements the Riverside values programme for all students at the start of every academic year.

The academy is dedicated to supporting a diverse student body, ensuring strong routines and high-quality pastoral care for all pupils.

Located at Russell Street, Middlesbrough, Outwood Academy Riverside is set to have a new school built on Pioneering Way near Middlesbrough College. Additionally, a satellite site in Eston opened in September 2024 for our new Year 7 students, as the school continues to grow.

About The Role

Would you like to be part of an innovative free school within a nationally renowned multi-academy trust? An organization that nurtures your talents and provides high-quality ongoing professional development.

Outwood Academy Riverside is an 11-16 provision that opened in September 2020 as part of the Free Schools Programme. As part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, the academy provides an exceptional environment for young people in our local community, with a focus on Students First: raising standards and transforming lives. Riverside is a supportive and caring community that values kindness, compassion, and developing talents.

Each academic year, all students are inducted into the Riverside values programme, which teaches them to master their emotions, develop wisdom, become kind and compassionate, and uphold values like truth, integrity, and courage.

The academy maintains high academic expectations, challenging students and staff to be their best, regardless of prior attainment or background.

This rewarding position involves primarily teaching Year 7 and 8 Maths, suitable for someone with primary classroom experience or a secondary teacher strong in Key Stage 3. A passion for working with students with SEN is essential.

Staff may be deployed at both the current site in Middlesbrough and the satellite site in Eston.

If you love working with children, are committed to going above and beyond, and want to be part of a dynamic team creating local history, we would love to hear from you.
