Job Description-Internal Technical Support Engineer The Company Cutwel are an engineering cutting, measuring and machine tool accessories distributor selling directly to end users across the UK and Ireland. Cutwel are UK agents for several German, Korean and Italian international manufacturers including YG-1, Korloy, Benz, Gerardi, WTO, Simtek and UFS. Based in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, we are a fast-paced growing company with a unique and effective business model. We have exciting plans for future growth across each of our customer platforms and to help us achieve them we are seeking an experienced PRECISION ENGINEER to join our internal technical support team. Job Role The successful applicant will be able to advise customers of the best solution to suit their application using Cutwel products and offer technical support over the phone, utilising your skill and experience as a precision engineer to ensure the customer consistently receives excellent service. Specifically, your role will include: Responding to technical queries either directly from customers or from the internal Cutwel sales and customer care team. Dealing with queries effectively via telephone, email, video or face to face using shop floor experience and knowledge to ensure the most appropriate product is selected and high-quality assistance given. Using your experience to identify ways of improving efficiency and productivity for customers, finding alternatives and additional products where necessary. Liaising with suppliers to establish what new products are available and how these can benefit Cutwel, proactively promoting these and any other new product releases. Proactively calling prospect customers seeking new business. Working closely with our suppliers on high value special requirements. Requirements CNC trained with good all-round knowledge of milling and turning Experience in both manual and CNC machining. At least 5 years shop floor experience (post apprenticeship) Comfortable speaking to customers and suppliers on the phone using an appropriate, professional manner. Competent with Microsoft office software Good understanding of materials used in a shopfloor environment Personal Characteristics Exceptional interpersonal skills (people person) A self-motivated who is strongly motivated to succeed and able to use their initiative.
