The service was established to provide a unique alternative to psychiatric admission. The project delivers a holistic package of support in a safe, comfortable and supportive environment without the stigmatizing effects and restrictions of hospital environment. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine. No relevant experience is required as full training will be provided, although candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. More important is your caring and compassionate nature and empathy and enthusiasm for helping others. Whatever your background, you’ll need to be happy to work both independently and within a team and willing to be part of a weekly rota system. Duties include Manage and improve their own physical and mental well-being Support the development of independent living skills, including budgeting, community engagement and access to services. Encourage choice, control and active participation in decision-making. Assess the wellbeing and welfare of people we support on an ongoing basis Maintain professional boundaries and act in line with the Code of Conduct Keep our service compliant with legal regulations Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records in line with GDPR and organisational policies Oversee your own caseload of key clients Work with individuals to develop agreed, meaningful and achievable person centred plans with positive outcomes that meet the individual’s aspirations Promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing Ensure positive risk assessments are created and implemented in line with our policies and procedures Signpost people we support, to other services for additional support What you'll need to succeed in the role; Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent (desirable) Qualification or accredited training in Mental Health, Substance Misuse, or Recovery Support (desirable) Ability to communicate effectively at all levels Ability to respond compassionately to sensitive and complex issues Able to motivate, support and advocate for people using services To view the full job description please click here What We Offer We value the people who make a difference every day.
