Job overview
Primrose Ward is a busy 28-bedded acute male general surgical ward, specialising in patients with urology and ENT, including caring for patients with a tracheostomy & laryngectomy. You will develop skills and a deeper knowledge of a wide variety of surgical conditions, covering both pre-operative and post-operative phases of the patient journey.
We are looking to recruit a staff nurse with experience in caring for surgical patients from various specialties, including general surgery, urology, orthopaedics, ENT, Max Fax, and gynaecology. As part of the wider team, you will possess sound communication skills and demonstrate motivation and compassion, focusing on effective and safe patient care.
Successful applicants will work within our team to provide high-quality and safe patient care for those with a range of acute traumatic injuries. Experience in orthopaedics is desirable.
Our surgical units are supported by practice nurse facilitators, alongside a robust preceptorship and competency framework. Successful candidates will be mentored and supported in their roles, with opportunities to further their academic careers through orthopaedic and mentoring courses.
