An Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in the London Borough of Croydon requires a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join their highly successful English department from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position teaching Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5). The school is deeply committed to fostering high standards of literacy and achieving excellent student progress.
Responsibilities:
The appointed English Teacher will plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the requirements of the National Curriculum and inspire a love of language and literature. You will be responsible for developing students' core literacy skills – reading, writing, speaking, and listening – across a range of texts and genres. Assessing student progress accurately, providing effective feedback, and collaborating with colleagues within the English team are key expectations for this English Teacher role. We need an excellent English Teacher.
Requirements:
Candidates must be a qualified English Teacher (QTS) with a degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related subject. Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level is essential. Strong classroom management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to motivate and inspire students are required.
