This is a well‑established small animal practice based in Essex, serving its local community for over a decade. The practice operates with a stable, experienced team and benefits from strong regional support through a nearby sister site, providing resilience, shared resources, and collaborative case management.
The clinical environment promotes clinical freedom, shared learning, and continuity of care, supported by regular clinical meetings and in‑house CPD. The practice works closely with a visiting certificate holder in small animal surgery, including orthopaedics, enabling access to advanced case discussion and mentorship. What You’ll Do
* Deliver first‑opinion consultations and medical care for a predominantly small animal caseload, including some small furries and exotics.
* Perform routine and non‑routine surgical procedures, appropriate to your level of experience.
* Manage surgical cases including:
o Neutering
o Mass removals
o Dentistry
o Basic ophthalmic procedures
o Emergency surgeries (e.g. pyometra, caesarean sections, foreign bodies, cystotomies)
o Surgical and non‑surgical wound management
* Utilise in‑house diagnostics, including laboratory testing, ultrasound, digital radiography, and multiparameter monitoring.
* Work in line with RCVS standards, maintaining patient safety, pain management, and accurate clinical records.
* Collaborate closely with veterinary nurses, support staff, and visiting clinicians to ensure high‑quality outcomes.
* Contribute to clinical discussions and shared CPD, supporting continuous improvement across the team.

What They Need From You
* RCVS Registration – eligibility to practise as a Veterinary Surgeon in the UK.
