IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - HYBRID - SALFORD - £38K BONUS I'm working with a business that's focused on optimising their IT operations and leveraging technology to drive efficiency across their organisation. They've built a strong operational foundation and are now looking to strengthen their technical support function. The Role They're looking for a IT Support Technician with a passion for automation to join their IT team. You'll be the technical expert providing first and second-line support while developing workflow automations that make everyone's life easier. Based in Salford – hybrid working with free onsite parking Modern office with excellent facilities including showers, lockers, and cycle storage Free drinks and breakfast provided daily 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays Automatic carryover of unused holiday days Performance-related annual bonus and pay rise Birthday day off Early salary payments in December and January What you'll be doing: Acting as first point of contact for IT support requests via phone, email, and ticketing system Providing technical support for hardware, software, operating systems, and network issues Installing, configuring, and maintaining end-user devices including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices Supporting and administering Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Exchange, and VPN solutions Diagnosing and resolving issues related to Windows Managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls in line with security policies Configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting workflow automation processes using tools such as Celigo, Power Automate, Zapier, or equivalent Collaborating with business teams to identify opportunities for automation, reduce manual tasks, and support integrations between systems (e.g., ERP, ecommerce, CRM) Escalating incidents to 2nd/3rd line support teams or external vendors when necessary Maintaining accurate records of incidents, resolutions, and knowledge base documentation Assisting with IT projects, upgrades, and rollouts as required Ensuring adherence to IT policies, processes, and compliance requirements Participating in out-of-hours support rota where required What you'll need: Proven experience in a technical IT Service Desk or Helpdesk role Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory) Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and support Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to prioritise and manage tasks in a busy support environment Customer-focused and service-driven Proactive in identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency Logical thinker with excellent attention to detail Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate across technical and non-technical teams Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Nice to haves: Experience with ITSM/ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice, etc.) Experience working with workflow automation and integration platforms (Celigo, Power Automate, Zapier, etc.) Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) Exposure to ERP, ecommerce, or CRM integrations Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or similar) to extend automation capabilities ITIL Foundation certification or understanding of ITIL processes If you're an experienced IT Support Technician looking to make a real impact where automation and efficiency improvements are genuinely valued, reply back with your CV Many thanks, IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - HYBRID - SALFORD - £38K BONUS As an industry leading, nationwide Marketing, Digital, Analytics, IT and Design recruitment agency, we are continually receiving new assignments to work on, so keep a close eye on our website, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter pages for a full list of current permanent and interim opportunities as well as marketplace news and fun stuff.
