Technical Support & Design Engineering for Cladding Systems
We are seeking a technically skilled and client-focused engineer to join our dynamic team in the cladding and façade systems sector. This pivotal office-based role combines
technical support, concept design, and compliance expertise
, helping architects, contractors, and clients choose and adapt the most suitable systems for their projects.
You will work closely with our technical, sales, and management teams to assess project inquiries, propose suitable cladding solutions, prepare adaptation concept designs, and ensure full compliance with UK regulations and industry standards. Key Responsibilities
· Provide
technical support
for internal teams, clients, architects, and contractors across the project lifecycle—from inquiry to post-installation.
· Assess project inquiries and propose suitable cladding systems, preparing
concept design adaptations
tailored to project requirements.
· Support new system development, testing, and certification, ensuring structural and regulatory performance.
· Manage and maintain technical documentation, certifications (e.g. CWCT, fire testing), and system performance data.
· Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, fire safety standards, and façade testing requirements.
· Produce, review, and update technical drawings using AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar CAD tools.
· Liaise with production and logistics teams to align technical specifications with operational and structural capabilities.
· Develop high-quality technical reports, manuals, CPD material, and client-facing presentations.
· Deliver technical demonstrations and training, including CPDs and bespoke project presentations to external stakeholders.
· Represent Cladmate as a subject matter expert at industry forums, events, and technical panels.
· Monitor market trends, competitor technologies, and regulatory updates to inform product strategy.
· Provide post-installation technical support, troubleshooting complex façade and structural challenges.
The Person
· Experience in the construction sector—ideally from an engineering or architectural technical drawing background.
· Strong technical knowledge of cladding systems, materials, and performance standards (e.g. CWCT, fire resistance, wind load).
· Ability to evaluate cladding system performance against building requirements and provide quick-turnaround concept designs.
· Working knowledge of UK building regulations and product testing protocols.
· Advanced proficiency in technical drawing software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
· Highly organised, analytical, and confident working across cross-functional teams.
· Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
· A strategic mindset with eagerness to contribute to the long-term technical direction and product innovation of the business.
