What will you be doing?
Your duties always include a high standard of health and safety ethos, regular quality assurance checks across site, 5s housekeeping, and the tasks generally associated with the daily running of the recycling site. This role reports directly to the Waste Recycling Site Supervisor.
You will work 5 x 10-hour days, Monday to Friday. Saturday working may be required, based on the needs of the site. Bank holidays, including Christmas, New Year and Easter periods are not normally worked.
Key Tasks
* Daily pre-use inspections to be carried out on all machinery and mobile plant.
* Operate safely ensuring our H&S policies / procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems are always adhered to.
* Maintain a high standard and well-organised waste site.
* Communicate daily with the Supervisor and Site Manager.
* Regular checks on waste levels around site as required.
* Ensure all waste streams are segregated and stored correctly after processing in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
* Undertake training provided to assist you in your role.
* Encourage a positive work environment and culture for all employees.
* Provide solutions, continuous improvements, and innovations.
* All near misses, incidents, and accidents are to be reported.
What are we looking for?
* Mobile Plant Operator License
* Loading shovel, 360 machine and forklift experience
* Have some experience or knowledge on waste management processes (sorting, loading and separating)
* This role is very hands on; you will be operating machinery and handling waste
* Self-motivated, problem solver with a willingness to succeed
* A can-do attitude
* A team player
* We will also support your training moving forward
