Veterinary practice manager

Liverpool (Merseyside)
Animal Trust
Veterinary practice manager
£45,000 - £65,000 a year
Posted: 17 November
Offer description

We are looking for a Dual Site Veterinary Practice Manager to oversee both our Birkenhead and Liverpool clinics. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the success and growth of two well-established practices within the Animal Trust group.

The ideal candidate will have management experience, preferably within the healthcare or veterinary sector, and will bring strong commercial awareness alongside excellent people and leadership skills.

About animal Trust

Animal Trust stands out from other veterinary services. Firstly, we are a unique Community Interest Company, being the only veterinary CIC in the UK to date. Our primary focus isn't solely on maximising profits; instead, we are dedicated to delivering on our mission and ensuring enough profit to sustain our business in the long term.

Our vision is clear: No pet should go untreated or face euthanasia when there is a viable treatment option. We firmly believe that pet ownership should be accessible to all, acknowledging that individuals earning the Real Living Wage may encounter challenges in affording veterinary care when their pet falls ill. In response, we aim to assist. Our free consultations and transparent pricing enable our vets and nurses to break down the barriers that stand in the way of pets receiving the treatment they need

Key Responsibilities
* Team Leadership: Line manage and inspire teams across both sites, conducting regular 1-to-1s and creating a supportive, high-performing culture.
* Recruitment: Partner with the central recruitment team to attract and select top talent. Actively participate in interviews for both clinical and non-clinical roles to build cohesive and capable teams.
* Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of both clinics, ensuring alignment with RCVS Practice Standards and maintaining exceptional client and patient care.
* Financial Oversight: Manage and monitor P&L performance, anticipating potential challenges and developing proactive solutions.
* Performance Analysis: Use KPIs to drive efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and achieve practice targets.
* Strategic Planning: Work with senior management to implement business strategies that ensure the long-term growth and success of both sites.
* Rota Management: Oversee and plan rotas to ensure smooth, efficient, and well-staffed service delivery.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
o Full driving licence with business insurance.
o Proven line management experience, ideally in a multi-site setting.
o Strong understanding of P&L management and ability to interpret financial data.
o Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
o Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of the veterinary or healthcare sector.
o Experience in coaching and mentoring team members.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
If you're inspired by a strong mission and want to help make veterinary care accessible for every pet, we'd love to hear from you
