Title: Project Controls Engineer

Join Our Team as a Project Controls Engineer at Defence Nuclear Technology Solutions (DNTS)!

Location: The role is Hybrid where 3 days per week will be spent in the Leatherhead office.

Security Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance for this role, which requires UK Nationality and 5-year footprint living and working in the UK.

The Role: We are seeking a talented and detail-driven Project Controls Engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge projects within the Defence Nuclear Technology Systems (DNTS) Division in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide and manage the Project Controls framework, systems and resources to deliver an effective cost control and reporting service to Project Managers and Sponsors.
2. Facilitate the production of the project WBS.
3. Prepare, monitor and forecast cost and schedule baselines and working schedules during all project phases reporting to key stakeholders via the DNTS Electronic Project Status Report (ePSR) process.
4. Establish and maintain a Basis of Schedule for all schedules produced.
5. Ensure all applicable schedule activities have Rules of Credit and Quantity Tracking mechanisms established.
6. Prepare, monitor and forecast expenditure profiles and provide accruals where needed.
7. Prepare cost and progress reports, including earned value analysis, identifying critical areas and trends and recommend recovery options.
8. Maintain the cost control and planning databases and validate data across systems.
9. Ensure all commitments are recorded and maintain forecasts within approved financial limits.
10. Maintain an estimate of the outturn value of the project and prepare the EAC for review and approval.
11. Identify and track all changes or potential changes to the project baseline and subsequent underpinning of change control mechanisms.
12. Provide the required information to support the risk process.
13. Provide project outturns against baseline for LFE and Knowledge Management.
14. Mentor and support Assistant Project Control Engineers in their development.

Accountabilities:

1. Ensure the accuracy of data communicated and reported to all stakeholders.
2. The highlighting of any current and potential issues to the Senior Project Manager, PCM and Project Manager.
3. Maintain compliance with approved processes, procedures and Project Execution Plans.
4. The active contribution to continuous improvement of the functional quality and performance of Project Controls.
5. Take a proactive role in the continuous improvement of project reporting across all elements of the DNTS business.
6. Support the mobilisation of all new DNTS Bids, Projects and/or Business Campaigns.

What we Need: The preferred candidate will have experience in the Government and Defence sector, along with a background in the services and/or construction industry. Additionally, expertise in ERP migration is highly desirable.
