Saltrock is seeking a Store Manager for a 40 hour contract. You will have experience in Retail with high visual merchandising standards and a track record as a Store Manager or an experienced Supervisor seeking progression. You will create an excellent in-store experience for customers, motivate and lead a team, monitor and hit sales targets, and merchandise product to its full potential.

For over 30 years, Saltrock, a British coastal lifestyle brand, has centered its brand on holiday, family, spirit and fun. Inspired by land and sea, waves and coastline, Saltrock has designed in the South West since 1988 and is known for its iconic print designs.


Responsibilities

* Relationships
o Proactively build and maintain professional commercial relationships throughout the business, ensuring the company’s requirements are met.
o Proactively build and maintain professional relationships with Head Office, Distribution Center and retail team to ensure the best commercial decisions for the store are made.
* Customer
o Ensure all customers are approached, engaged and proactively sold to, providing the highest standards of customer service at all times.
o Create a positive in-store experience through actions of the entire team.
o Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including centre procedures where relevant, with emphasis on health and safety for staff and customers.
o Maintain high security awareness by complying with all company security procedures.
* Sales/Financial
o Accurately complete/understand the commercial file and monitor sales, entering commercial data as required.
o Use commercial file information to influence decisions and maximise commercial opportunities.
o Adhere to all company and centre procedures where applicable.
o Implement markdowns and price alterations within agreed timescales.
o Ensure the store is appropriately staffed to maximise peak trade periods.
o Keep personal expenses to a minimum.
* Stock Maintenance & Visual Standards
o Maintain high housekeeping standards to keep the store attractive and safe.
o Monitor stock management, including stock losses, markdowns and stock levels.
o Merchandise products commercially in line with visual merchandising principles and guidelines to maximise sales.
o Ensure stock is tidy, presentable, replenished and attractively merchandised.
o Process deliveries promptly and maintain stockroom standards.
* People
o Recruit and train new employees to Saltrock standards, complete probationary requirements and reviews within required timescales.
o Induct new staff ensuring required competencies are demonstrated and all documentation is correctly completed and forwarded to Head Office and Line Manager as required.
o Monitor development needs of staff with appropriate coaching and training.
o Monitor performance, address disciplinary issues or training needs as required.
o Motivate team members to deliver exceptional service and represent Saltrock positively.
o Deliver agreed service levels and maximise every sales opportunity.
o Seek feedback from competitors on performance to stay aware of factors affecting trade.
* Communication
o Complete all administration tasks correctly and on time.
o Implement and maintain communication systems to staff, line manager and brands as required.
o Utilise all communication tools provided to benefit the store.
o Ensure communication with Head Office, DC and retail team is polite, clear, concise and fit for purpose.
o Provide feedback on commercial performance to relevant parties.
* Role Competencies
o Be responsible for the sales performance and standards of the assigned store.
o Maximise profitability through efficient resource management.
o Maximise sales by ensuring staff are trained and motivated and the store is properly merchandised for a positive shopping experience and achievement of budgeted profit.
o Support the Retail Controller as required with retail responsibilities.
