Key Details:
* Position: User Interface Engineer
* Location: Hybrid remote, with on-site work at Leigh Spinners Mill, Greater Manchester
* Hours: Flexible
* Salary: £32,000 - £48,000 depending on experience, with a clear progression up to £50,000+ within 2 years.
* Holiday: 25 days paid holiday, extras available to purchase + earn 1 extra day per year worked
What We're Looking For:
* Someone with a strong sense of modern application design and comfortability working at both design and implementation stages using Figma & React.
* Comfort using generative AI tools and workflows for prototyping and rapidly testing concepts.
* Implementing user experiences from concept to delivery as part of a larger full-stack engineering team.
* No specific work experience or qualifications required but we expect you to have completed some personal projects so we can get a sense of your style and capabilities.
* Someone with excellent communication and soft skills.
Required Skills:
* React for building dynamic, responsive user interfaces
* Figma for design collaboration and creating polished mockups
* TypeScript for writing maintainable, type-safe code
* Storybook for component documentation and testing
Desired Skills (nice to have):
* Photoshop and Illustrator for advanced design work and asset creation
* Backend development experience to better understand full-stack workflows
* Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for deployment and scalability considerations
What you'll be working on:
* Implementing user experiences for new and existing products from concept to delivery as part of a larger full-stack engineering team.
* Working closely with product managers to translate user needs into intuitive interfaces that actually solve problems.
* Collaborating directly with backend developers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
* Taking ownership of the entire user journey, from initial wireframes through to polished, production-ready interfaces.
* Prototyping and testing new features quickly, iterating based on user feedback and team input.
* Contributing to design system development and maintaining consistency across our product suite.
