About the Role
We’re looking for a Lead Engineer to join our Digital Services team, specialising in Salesforce Marketing Cloud. You’ll bring deep technical expertise and leadership to drive architectural excellence, automation, and continuous improvement across marketing technologies. As a trusted advisor and hands‑on problem solver, you’ll collaborate across teams to ensure our platforms support student success and align with strategic goals.
What You’ll Do
* Lead the design and implementation of marketing automation architecture, ensuring alignment with OU standards and strategic goals.
* Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, promoting reusable patterns and architectural consistency.
* Co‑create and document reference architectures, policies, and standards to support secure, scalable, and cost‑effective delivery.
* Advocate for continuous architectural governance and ensure solutions meet expectations around security, stability, and performance.
* Support the administration and optimisation of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, resolving issues and ensuring high availability.
Who We’re Looking For
* Proven experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud architect or administrator, with a strong understanding of SaaS and custom solution integration.
* Demonstrated success in implementing strategic architectural changes and migrating marketing platforms.
* Skilled in DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and agile methodologies to drive team and domain outcomes.
* Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders across technical and non‑technical domains.
* Familiarity with architecture frameworks and patterns, and how they support software development and maintenance.
* A collaborative leader with a logical mindset, capable of mentoring others and driving innovation.
