We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Special Needs Specialist to join secondary schools around Feltham on a temporary basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with a range of additional learning needs and help them reach their full potential as part of our pool of supply staff.
Duties as Special Needs Specialist:
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support for secondary pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
* Work closely with subject teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
* Adapt lesson materials and strategies to ensure inclusive access to the curriculum.
* Promote students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, encouraging independence and confidence.
* Monitor and record progress, sharing updates with staff and parents/carers.
Ideal Special Needs Specialist:
* Demonstrated experience supporting young people with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH) in a secondary school or similar environment.
* Strong understanding of inclusive practices and current SEN approaches.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and outside agencies as a Special Needs Specialist.
* Relevant qualifications—such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, SEN specialism, or equivalent experience—are advantageous.
