FINANCE SYSTEMS ACCOUNTANT
* Essential experience: strong EMP/ERP Finance Systems + Financial Services
* £80-100k + package (incl. decent pension and bonus)
* Based in the City: Flexible hybrid WFH (2-3 days p/wk)
Pear Talent is representing an exciting Insurance business who continue to grow rapidly, having completed several acquisitions in the last year. They have a newly created opportunity for an interim Finance Systems Accountant on an initial 6mths contract.
Working directly for the Head of Finance Systems, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and developing the suite of Finance systems used, ensuring efficient running of all applications especially Oracle FCCS (financial reporting) and CCH Tagetik (regulatory reporting). You’ll need to be comfortable solving problems and mitigating risks as they arise, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery. This is a business facing role so you’ll be expected to develop trusted relationships with colleagues and senior stakeholders in Finance.
Key accountabilities:
* Provide the Finance team with day-to-day systems support and issue resolution to ensure accurate and timely monthly/annual reporting cycles
* Configuration of proper systems access for the business to optimise controls, including at the user group, menu security, and document security level
* Undertake user consultation and requirements gathering for development and improvement of Finance Systems and reporting solutions
* Delivery of system training and ongoing support for Finance users
* Operation of core finance control processes on the system
* Drive continuous improvement and enhancements to the applications
* Contribute to initiatives to identify new technology/solutions and drive their implementation
* Build, maintain and manage strong working relationship across the Finance teams and wider business.
Required experience:
* Preferably qualified/part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
* Essential - experience of Finance systems accounting maintenance/support
* Essential - EPM Finance systems experience, must have 1 of: Oracle Financial Close & Consolidation (FCCS) or Tagetik or Workiva
* Experience in Financial Services (ideally Insurance)
* Strong process understanding of finanical reporting consolidation and regulatory reporting (ideally Solvency II or IFRS17)
* Strong analytical, numeric and critical reasoning skills, capable of delivering practical solutions to complex problems
* Strong problem solving skills with an ability to identify innovative practical solutions to complex problems
