About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will help shape the narrative of a vibrant university as part of a dynamic new leadership team. Collaborating with the Digital Content and Communications Team, you'll craft compelling stories that engage both the media and the wider public.
Key Responsibilities
* Press Releases: Create engaging press releases that spotlight groundbreaking research and impactful stories.
* Media Relations: Manage media inquiries, facilitate interviews, and provide guidance to interviewees.
* Networking: Develop and maintain a diverse range of media contacts to enhance our outreach.
* Digital Engagement: Work with colleagues to produce captivating digital content, including social media posts, videos, and podcasts.
* Monitoring & Reporting: Compile weekly news round‑ups for senior management using a media monitoring service.
* Campaigns: Assist in developing content for key campaigns, including student recruitment and graduation events.
* Event Support: Play a crucial role in high‑profile events, ensuring media engagement and visibility.
Ideal Candidate
* Significant experience in PR, communications, or journalism.
