The position is based at our new SEN School near Bridgnorth. Esland schools currently support a number of vulnerable young people aged 8-18 years with SEMH. Our schools are also a base for our outreach services, which support the education of young people in their residential settings.
Role Responsibilities
As Deputy Headteacher, you would be expected:
* To ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made
* To plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons, demonstrating outstanding teaching and learning – there will be a teaching commitment in this role
* To lead a system and culture of continual improvement and high standards in teaching through coaching, team-teaching, and demonstrating excellence
* To lead on all matters pertaining to statutory assessment and testing
* To lead on internal assessment and tracking systems.
* To take a major role in monitoring and evaluating school provision related to raising standards and achievement
* To take a leading role in the pastoral care of all children in the school including behaviour management, child protection and safeguarding
* Take a lead role in careers guidance
* To support the Headteacher in the day-to-day management of the school by taking specific responsibility for daily absence of staff and cover, including PPA time
* To monitor teaching and learning to ensure high standards are replicated across the school
* To lead on identifying strategies to overcome individual pupils’ barriers to learning
* To schedule and complete half-termly supervisions with the teachers
* To carry out duties as identified in the Teacher Standards
* To meet all Teacher Standards

What we are looking for:
Essential requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status
* Degree qualification or equivalent
* An excellent class teacher
* At least five years’ post qualified teaching experience
* Proven track record of leading whole school improvement
* Experience as a primary, secondary or SEND teacher
