Our team in EMEA currently has an opening for a European Product Manager Solvents. This role can be located anywhere within Europe. YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES Introduction Our Brenntag Pharma EMEA division builds the link between Raw Material suppliers and Medicinal Product Producers and manages the Distribution of APIs, Excipients, Intermediates, as well as Base chemicals with Value-Added Services. We serve the market with our entrepreneurial mindset & vision at the highest quality standard. We actively listen to our partners needs and add value with our customised solutions, acting as a one-stop-shop for the pharmaceutical industry. You will be part of the Pharma EMEA Industry Market Management team and work closely together with our Local Product Manager, Sales and Pharma Services team across EMEA region. Your main responsibilities will be to manage key suppliers and product basket for the segment of Solvents used in API production and pharmaceutical applications. You will play an important role in supporting our Local Product Managers and our Sales team and in providing guidance for the Pharma industry based on thorough and up to date market know how. Role and Responsibilities (included but not limited to): Build value adding key supplier relationships, and full responsibility of supplier management (incl. supplier selection, sourcing, and product management - price/contract negotiation, GP margin optimisation, stock inventory management and optimisation) for the segment of Solvents Prepare and publish monthly updates on solvents market dynamics and market analysis (feed-stock market pricing, movements, supply situation, overall market intelligence) to strategically support the business development Act as Solvents Product Expert, bringing and developing solvents market know-how to drive strategies for pharma business, in coordination with the Synthesis strategy Identify market trends and opportunities in the pharma sector, based on customer needs and market changes, that hold business potential Build Technical & Commercial support for sales and product managers (Product information, Newsletters, Training) - on new products, suppliers, and applications Develop marketing and business positioning campaigns together with the marketing team and execute them Define the themes, priorities and focus areas for exhibitions and participate in regional trade fair activities Participate in joint visits with suppliers and customers to uphold technical discussions and to provide support to sales and the overall business Facilitate open and honest communication within the department, and with employees at all levels of the company. Communicate regularly with peers across the company and within the department on appropriate matters. YOUR PROFILE Your Profile: University degree in Science (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, or related disciplines) Strong product and market knowledge of Solvents and essential products is essential Multiple years experience in the Chemical Distribution or Chemical Industry Experience in Product Management or strong network and relationship building capability with suppliers Knowledge or experience in the pharmaceutical market is a plus Ability to work under pressure to find effective win/win/win solutions Solid presentation skills and fluency in English, both written and verbal Sound computer skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, CRM Availability to travel internationally as required.
