Appleby Creamery is part of the Cows and Co Group and is a rapidly expanding business that has concentrated primarily on sales in the Northwest of England and Southern Scotland. We are now increasing our profile nationally and this will have a significant impact on production volumes. The site has seen massive investment over the past six years and could increase throughput five-fold with little further capital expenditure requirement.

Your responsibilities and tasks:
We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can also work as part of a team. The job involves food handling, and full training will be provided both on and off the job. The cheese making process involves working with some semi-automated equipment, pumps, pipework, and valves, alongside manual work such as turning, cutting, and packing cheese at various stages of the process, as well as washing down at the end of the day.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team, with ongoing training and development included to help you excel in your role and enhance the enjoyment of the job.
Key Duties
* Startup and operation of in-line milk pasteuriser (once fully trained)
* Monitor cheese-making process through sampling and testing
* Be involved in manual handling of the curds and whey
* Cheese packing
* Plant and equipment cleaning
Your profile and qualifications:
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good level of physical fitness
* Flexibility to undertake some early starts (4am-12 noon) and some later finishes (10am-6pm)
