I’m recruiting on behalf of a respected electrical and renewables contractor that’s growing fast and looking for an Electrician’s Mate who wants to learn, step up and build a career, not just clock in and out. My client delivers tidy, compliant work across domestic and commercial sites, from consumer unit upgrades and EICRs to solar PV and EV charge‑point installs. They value pride in workmanship, clear communication and a can‑do attitude, and they’ll invest in the right person to help them progress.
You’ll be the trusted right hand to experienced electricians, keeping projects moving and standards high. One day you’ll be pulling in cables and fixing containment with care; the next you’ll be assisting with first and second fix, chasing and making good, mounting equipment and preparing for testing. You’ll help produce accurate paperwork, keep the site organised and safe, and support handovers that leave customers confident. When solar or EV work comes up, you’ll get hands‑on exposure, gaining practical understanding of the technologies shaping our industry.
You might be early in your career or returning to the trade, but you’ll bring a solid work ethic, a neat approach and a respectful manner on site. ECS card or equivalent is helpful; basic hand tools, an eye for detail and readiness to learn are essential. A full UK driving licence is an advantage. If you are studying or aiming for NVQ Level 3 and 18th Edition, my client will support you.
Progression here is genuine. Expect a structured development plan with funded training that can include EV charger manufacturer courses, solar PV and battery storage introductions, and support toward 18th Edition and, longer‑term, inspection and testing. As you grow, you can move into a qualified electrician role, take on small works independently and mentor new starters.
This is a full‑time, permanent position around Farnham and nearby areas, paying £25,000–£30,000 depending on experience, with paid holiday, pension, on‑site or free parking and regular team events. If this sounds like your next step, apply via Indeed and tell me what you’ve learned so far—and what you want to master next.
