Position
Band 3 Staff Nurse within the busy Day Surgery Unit based at Ayr Hospital.
What You Will Do
* Theatre: Ensure all equipment and accessories are available for surgery; transfer patients from pre‑op to theatre and then to post‑op; input data into the computer; order and monitor stock levels.
* DSU ward: Help patients get ready for procedures; perform venipuncture, cannulation, bladder scan and monitor patients throughout the day; order and monitor stock levels.
* Ophthalmology: Assist patients getting ready for surgery; order and monitor stock; monitor patients following surgery.
* Clinic: Chaperone patients through examinations; check urinalysis, carry flow & scans, phlebotomy and pregnancy tests; handover to ward staff on admission.
* BMS Ward: Monitor patients during stay; perform flow & scans, cannulation, venepuncture.
* Diagnostic Room: Assist patients throughout procedure; assist scrub nurse with opening required equipment.

Hours
37 hours per week over 5 days. Hours vary depending on area working. This post is permanent.
