An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join our team in Rolls-Royce.
Based in Bristol, you will be part of a large multi-disciplinary organization tasked with delivering novel gas turbine sub-systems and component solutions as part of a next-generation power and propulsion system, supporting our in-service products.
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing a variety of components and assemblies across different sub-systems. Your duties may also include understanding in-service operation, testing and verification programs, technology development, and improving tools and methods.

What you will be doing
* Deliver design solutions for components and assemblies considering safety, manufacturability, and robustness.
* Evaluate current product operation in service to improve reliability.
* Define requirements for stakeholder groups in accordance with policies, using conventional and future approaches like Model Based Definition.
* Develop tools, standards, and best practices; capture lessons learned.
* Contribute to product safety through XFMEA and risk assessments, ensuring design quality.
* Perform analyses using calculations or workflows for dimensioning parts and components, ensuring designs meet requirements.
* Manage work priorities within an agile framework and contribute to planning in a multi-disciplinary team.
Who we’re looking for

* A Master’s degree in Engineering or a Bachelor’s with relevant experience.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
* Strong knowledge in mechanical design, manufacturing, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, analysis, and product definition.
* Logical, analytical, and innovative problem-solving skills with balanced decision-making ability.
* Good communication and teamwork skills, with experience in multidisciplinary environments.
* Preferred but not essential: understanding of gas turbine component design and manufacturing, experience with Siemens NX or similar CAD and PLM tools, leadership experience, and mentoring skills.
