Overview
PA Consulting is recruiting Digital Apprentices in Manchester. The role offers opportunities to develop software development skills on complex digital initiatives using contemporary coding platforms and modern tooling. You will join PA’s global Digital and Data community and the Manchester-based team, supporting client projects and developing your professional networks.
Key Responsibilities
* Working with a team of experienced software developers and consultants to understand client requirements and develop custom software solutions
* Learning and implementing new technologies and software development best practices
* Participating in code reviews and ensuring the quality of the code
* Participating in meetings with clients to understand their requirements and provide solutions
* Writing documentation and conducting training sessions to clients
* Continuously improving your skills and knowledge in software development
Assessment process
* First Stage Assessments: Application form, Online Assessments, Shortlisting
* Final Stage Assessments: Assessment Centre, Final Stage Interviews

* You will be enrolled on the Level 6 Digital Technology Solutions apprenticeship delivered by an external training provider. On successful completion you will gain a Level 6 Bachelors Degree in Digital & Technology Solutions Professional.

* Full-time role with 20% of time allocated to the apprentice programme
* Hybrid working – minimum 2 days per week in office or on client site; must live within a commutable distance to the Manchester office
* Salary potential: £26,230
* Role starts in September 2026
Qualifications
We’d like you to bring:
* Qualifications: 2 A levels or equivalent in a relevant subject (such as Computing, Maths, IT, Science, Engineering, etc)
* Technical understanding: A passion for technology reflected in personal projects
* Technical Skills: Familiarity with a programming language or framework (e.g., Java, C#/.NET, JavaScript); basic understanding of relational and/or non-relational databases (MS Access, MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and awareness of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
* Growth-oriented and curious — open to change, driven to succeed, eager to broaden understanding
* Collaborative and relationship-focused — thrives in dynamic teams and supports others to succeed
* Credible and communicative — comfortable in high-performance environments, with strong written and verbal communication
* Analytical and adaptable — strong problem-solving, innovative thinking, and data interest
* Professional and reliable — punctual, dependable, and respectful of business expectations
As this role is a funded Degree Apprenticeship, applicants who have already completed a degree in Software Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related discipline are not eligible, in line with apprenticeship funding rules
