About the Role
An established and reputable food production business is looking for a reliable, detail‑oriented individual to join its Technical Department as a Laboratory Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with laboratory or food production experience who values accuracy, strong hygiene standards, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Role Summary
Working pattern: 5 days out of 7 on a rotating basis
Hours: 37.5 per week
Shift times:
Weekdays: start at 06:00 (rotation of finish times depending on shift)
Saturday: 08:00 start

You'll receive practical laboratory training and work towards recognised certifications such as Basic Food Safety and COSHH.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out sampling and microbiological testing to maintain product quality standards.
Analyse and interpret results, identifying irregularities and ensuring compliance with company and legal requirements.
Maintain clean, organised laboratory areas and follow all COSHH, Health & Safety, and Food Safety regulations.Note: For hygiene purposes, only a single plain wedding band may be worn.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships.
Experience working to high hygiene standards.
GCSEs (grade B or above) in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification in Biological Sciences.Desirable
Laboratory experience within food or dairy production.
Knowledge of microbiology, food hygiene, and quality control processes.Training & Development
