Job Description
Key responsibilities for the Interim Procurement Manager:
3. Developing procurement policies, processes, and governance appropriate for a college environment
4. Building a central view of contracts and supplier arrangements
5. Providing expert advice and support to teams across the college
6. Leading sourcing exercises, tendering activity, and negotiations
7. Ensuring compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 and relevant sector regulations
8. Supporting value-for-money decisions and effective supplier management
9. Creating positive relationships with stakeholders and promoting good procurement practice
The Successful Applicant
A successful Interim Procurement Manager should have:
10. Experience in procurement within the public sector, education, or a regulated setting
11. Strong knowledge of public procurement rules and processes
12. The ability to introduce new approaches in a clear, engaging, and practical way
13. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to influence and advise stakeholders
14. Strong analytical and commercial awareness
15. (Desirable) A CIPS qualification or working towards one
