What will this role achieve?
* Achieving the pladis ambition requires us to have the agility and responsiveness to service local market needs, and require us to make the best use of our local and global capability and capacity to give us the best possible cost base
* The Supply Chain team is responsible for ensuring we act as “one” to meet demand, drive the opportunities to improve our commonalities, prioritising how we spend capital for the good of the business and enabling effective and efficient local operational management of supply and service.
* As the Project Engineer for the South of the UK, you will play a key role within the Project Investment Planning & Implementation Team for the UK & Ireland. You will be accountable for all aspects of delivery of full lifecycle project engineering for capital projects, from concept to delivery.
* You will report directly to the UK’s Projects and Investments Manager (PIM), and within your multi-site responsibility you will service Harlesden, Head Office (Chiswick Park), High Wycombe R&D centre & Wigston manufacturing.
What will be your key deliverables?
* Lead the delivery of various capital projects throughout the UK ensuring the complexity, cost, time‐constraints are fully understood and handled.
* Continually manage progress to ensure meeting of specific deadlines.
* Responsible for all stages of projects from development through to delivery; including URS creation, tendering and supplier selection, resource, time and cost management, Control of contractors with CDM, Contract management, FAT, SAT and formal handback and project closure
* Manage project development through engineering capability as part of full Lifecycle project delivery in the capability function
* Ensure projects are delivered to a high quality of engineering and technical standard and drive elite specification and standard use throughout the capability team
* Magnificent management of changes to the scope and schedule of the project
* Lead project update meetings, and document project status and issues
* Appraise senior managers of project status, issues and concerns
* Actively pursue issue resolution and communicate project status/issues to business partners and operational management
* Possess a robust knowledge of most technical and business resources and use them to effectively deliver key projects
* Determine the vital supporting documentation for the business to evaluate, prioritise and figure out the cost efficiency of initiatives
Bring your experience
* Minimum of 5 years of professional level job; manufacturing preferred.
* Minimum of 2 years delivering engineering projects in project engineering position.
* Experience within a Blue-Chip Organisation including the ability to positively engage at senior level.
* Hands on user experience of AutoCAD
* Strong Project Management skills
* Strong engineering thinking.
* BSc/BEng ‐ Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and related work experience (consistent track record)
* Knowledge of Lean techniques is preferred
* Developed strategic problem solver; able to balance short and long-term goals and confident to try new things for the benefit of the business
* Strong engineering leadership skills and customer focus with attention to delivering sustainable results that exceed customer, sponsor and partner expectations
* Proven communication skills – verbal and non-verbal to positively engage, empower and influence an audience
* Natural networker with strong interpersonal skills
* Personal resilience and demonstrates courage in environments which are open to change and challenge
* Willingness to travel within region (50-70%).
