Sheffield Hallam University has an ambitious and challenging people agenda and we are looking for a high-performing, future-focused Senior Advisor to join the Human Resources and Organisational Development Directorate as part of our Employee Relations team.
As well as being a dedicated and trusted expert in employee relations and the application of employment law and employment policies, you will help drive continuous improvement – using insight, data and fresh thinking, including digital tools to innovate our approach to supporting our staff community.
We're looking for a confident and proactive Senior HROD Advisor to join our team for a 12‑month temporary appointment. You will demonstrate strong expertise in managing complex employee relations casework while proactively coaching and empowering managers to address performance, conduct and attendance issues confidently and independently.
You will be expected to develop effective working relationships across the wider team and Directorate, sharing best practice and knowledge, working together to promote a consistently high-quality service offer.

You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.Each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/49th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 21% of your salary). For a starting salary of £40,000, for example, the University would pay just over £8,300 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £816 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
