Depot Administrator

Department: Transport and Logistics

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Dagenham Cement Depot


Description

As a Depot Administrator, you will play a key role in coordinating transport distribution and supporting day-to-day site operations. Acting as the central point between drivers, warehouse teams, customers, and management, you will ensure smooth communication and seamless workflow. You’ll be responsible for managing the flow of materials and documentation, helping to keep operations efficient, organised, and on schedule.

Breedon Cement is a major division of Breedon Group plc, which manufactures high-performance packed & Bulk cement.

At Dagenham Depot, we despatch over three hundred thousand tonnes of cement annually, which includes cements for industrial applications (like CEM I and CEM II) and various packed (bagged) cements for smaller trade and DIY projects, such as general-purpose, rapid set, and sulphate-resisting cement


Key Responsibilities

* General administration: Maintain & update company databases, goods inwards and outwards, logging raw materials, spare parts, stock checks.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensuring depot operatives, drivers & visitors complete the necessary site safety briefings before entering operational areas.
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of delivery notes, weighbridge tickets, site maintenance & service records.
* Customer Service: Function as the first point of contact for customer services, handling delivery & despatch updates, resolving logistical challenges.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

* Strong organisation and ability to manage high volumes of work in a fast-paced environment.
* Good awareness of health & safety standards in an industrial environment.
* Understanding of transport/logistics or depot operations an advantage.
* Demonstrate a high attention to detail, particularly with documentation and order processing.
* Previous experience working in an office-based role
* Ability to prioritise tasks and solve problems quickly
* Good IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, SAP or similar systems)
