Job Title: SEN Teacher (Temporary, Full-Time)

Salary Range: £180 - £265 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Temporary (ASAP or Easter 2024 to July) with the possibility of permanent employment from July onwards

About the School: Hays Education are working alongside a well-established Secondary SEN School in the vibrant Newham area, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team. The school caters to students aged 11-19 years old with severe and profound learning difficulties, including Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and challenging behaviour. The school boasts sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pools, and a medical suite to support the diverse needs of its students.
Role Overview: As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching and supporting students at KS3 and KS4 levels. Your primary focus will be on GCSE level pupils who require SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) support. This is a full-time position, and you will work closely with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and other staff to ensure that each child receives the appropriate level of support. Your duties will include planning, marking, and delivering tailored educational programs based on the National Curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teach and support students aged 11-16 years in KS3 and KS4 with severe and profound learning difficulties.
2. Plan, mark, and deliver lessons that cater to the individual needs of each child.
3. Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff to provide targeted support.
4. Utilize the National Curriculum to create tailored educational programs.
5. Work with vulnerable children, including those with Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
Requirements:
6. UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
7. Minimum of 12 months experience working with SEN children or in SEN schools.
8. A patient and understanding approach to meeting the complex needs of students.
9. Experience within a mainstream school, with a desire to transition into a SEN school, will be considered.
10. Good understanding of the secondary curriculum.
