Job Title: Senior Buyer – Major Civil Engineering & Urban Transport Projects
Location: Birmingham
Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent
A leading infrastructure delivery alliance is seeking a Senior Buyer to support a high-profile urban transport programme in Birmingham. Acting as a key procurement professional within the team, you’ll take the lead in procuring subcontractors, materials, and plant to ensure delivery of major infrastructure projects is timely, cost-effective, and in line with NEC3 contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead subcontract procurement and supply chain engagement
* Develop tender packages and manage end-to-end procurement processes
* Draft and manage contracts using NEC3 and standard templates
* Maintain supplier relationships and performance
* Identify and mitigate procurement risks
* Work closely with commercial, delivery, and design teams
About You:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in construction or civil engineering procurement
* NEC3 knowledge essential
* Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder communication skills
* Ideally working toward or qualified with MCIPS
* Proficient with Microsoft Office and procurement systems
