We’re seeking a proactive and detail-orientedMaterials Requirements Plannerto join our Purchasing team at CELF (Perivale). Reporting to the Head Buyer (or the Head of Contracts & Purchasing in their absence), you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our supply chain.
In this fast-paced role, you’ll be responsible for managing purchasing activities, supporting engineering teams, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. Your work will directly contribute to the operational efficiency of the business.
Main Responsibilities
* Act as a point of contact for all purchasing-related and day-to-day procurement issues, reporting directly to the Head Buyer.
* Process requisitions and raise purchase orders.
* Authorise engineering work on behalf of engineering managers.
* Support engineering staff with part number queries and changes.
* Resolve invoice discrepancies and overcharge issues prior to submission to Finance.
* Provide purchasing data and analysis as required.
* Helping identify part manufacturers and new sources of supply
* Expedite and progress orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
* Collaborate with other companies within the group on procurement and contract projects.
* Work with external suppliers to consistently achieve best price and quality.
* Adhere to Metroline Health & Safety directives and promote safe working practices.
Essential Criteria for application
* Proven experience working in a fast-paced purchasing or supply chain environment (essential).
* Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain best practices (essential).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level (essential).
* CIPS qualification or currently working towards it (desirable).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
* Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Methodical, results-oriented, and process-driven.
* Capable of managing workload independently and meeting strict deadlines.
* Skilled at identifying solutions and using initiative in challenging situations.
* Discreet and professional when handling confidential matters.
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* High-volume task management with consistent delivery of results.
Hours of work
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
