Job Description:
A great opportunity has arisen for a Planner within our Programmes Department. These roles don’t come vacant often and they are a sizeable step in to the world of Leonardo Helicopters.
The scope of this role is to design and maintain the project schedule in accordance planning and control processes and contract requirements, ensuring the integrity of the planning outputs throughout the project life cycle through direct liaison with all key stakeholders. Prepare required reports to support schedule and cost control, identifying issues and potential solutions with key stakeholders/ Integrated Project Team (IPT) Lead to establish corrective actions.
This role is a level 4 on our Salary & Career Progression Framework with a starting salary of £35,000.
WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A PLANNER
1. Develop and implement the programme/project schedule in accordance with the contracted scope, delivery dates, Responsibility Assignment Matrix and financial baseline
2. Coordinate, control and integrate the interfaces creating logical links, maintaining updates and applying earned value techniques where applicable
3. Maintain and control the programme or project schedule baseline (dates and budgets) to reflect any contracted amendments. Managing the approval and communication of these changes in accordance with Leonardo procedures
4. Direct the timely processing of schedule updates by engaging with cost centre managers to manage tasks. Monitoring the accuracy of project schedules and version control changes
5. Monitor SAP work packages and planning packages to ensure all have accurate baselines, up to date forecast dates for start and finish of the task and that the budgets and Estimate At Completes (EAC) are correct
6. Track, analyse and produce reports to confirm the programme or project cost and schedule performance, coordinating variance analysis and driving corrective actions (including resource analysis)
7. Work to develop and continuously improve the planning and reporting processes within the business to ensure best practice
8. Attend monthly meetings for associated projects to ensure understanding of overall programme and development
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
9. Good written and verbal communication skills
10. Ability to work effectively within a team setting and also to provide leadership when required
11. Effective and persuasive in building a network of contacts, creating strong relationships
12. Proficient in the use of SAP and Microsoft Project (as core planning tool) and other common Microsoft packages
13. Excellent analytical and planning skills with good attention to detail
14. Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
15. Ability to maintain a clear focus on goals and priorities
16. Excellent organisational and time management skills
17. Experienced in the planning and scheduling of complex tasks within an aerospace or similar industrial environment
18. It would be a bonus to have good knowledge of company products and organisation
