Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Inverness
Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 basic + on-call & OT (OTE up to ~£46,700)
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, days (8:00am-4:30pm)
The Role
An established industrial manufacturing site in Inverness is looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support site operations across a modern, high-capacity production facility. This is a days-based role offering strong earning potential through a structured on-call rota and overtime. You'll be part of a skilled engineering team, responsible for maintaining plant reliability, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns
* Fault-find and repair mechanical systems and production equipment
* Work on bearings, belts, chains, drives, and rotating machinery
* Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
* Carry out inspections to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently
* Work closely with production to minimise downtime
* Ensure all work complies with health & safety and site procedures
* Complete maintenance records and reports accurately
About You
* Qualified Mechanical Engineer (apprenticeship or relevant mechanical qualification)
* Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong mechanical fault-finding and breakdown skills
* Able to work independently and manage your own workload
* Reliable, safety-focused, and proactive in approach
* Comfortable participating in an on-call rota
