Job Description
WSP is looking for a consultant to support our Circular Economy & Waste Advisory team, providing technical procurement advisory services across waste infrastructure projects, leading bids, and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and assist project delivery teams in technical procurement advisory.
* Prepare proposals and support business development initiatives.
* Provide line management/mentoring to junior staff.
* Manage projects ensuring on‑time, within‑budget delivery and high client satisfaction.
* Draft reports, tender specifications, contracts, and business cases.
* Build and maintain client relationships to grow the business pipeline.
Projects Expected
* Waste management procurement for infrastructure and environmental services.
* Tender development, bidder evaluation, and negotiation.
* Business case development for new service delivery models.
* Environmental service reviews to identify savings.
Qualifications
* First degree in science, environment or engineering.
* Experience in environmental and waste procurement for local authorities.
* Strong background drafting technical specifications, performance frameworks, tenders, pricing schedules, payment mechanisms.
* Experience in competitive dialogues or procurement procedures.
* Knowledge of UK waste legislation and policy.
* Experience working with council officers.
* Excellent written & verbal communication; senior stakeholder engagement.
* Strong time‑management, ability to deliver under tight timelines.
