JOB PURPOSE
To assist the Senior Payments & Billing Officer daily, manage the Payments & Billing team, and perform operational transactional tasks.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Support the Senior Payments & Billing Officer in managing, organizing, and coordinating the Payments & Billing team, including prioritizing, allocating work, and delegating tasks.
2. Supervise staff up to Grade D, ensuring adherence to Council policies and procedures.
3. Ensure effective completion of all financial transactions within deadlines and monitor debt accruals, initiating appropriate actions.
4. Maintain accurate budget records, execute financial transactions when necessary, and prepare relevant reports.
5. Represent the Payments & Billing team or authority in meetings as needed.
6. Prioritize customer focus and staff responsiveness, fostering a culture of excellence.
7. Develop partnerships within and outside the Authority, working collaboratively with departments, communities, and agencies to build trust and ensure service delivery.
8. Participate in recruitment, selection, and appointment of staff as appropriate.
9. Identify staff training needs and contribute to training and development activities.
10. Prepare and present reports, statistical data, and other information as required.
Relevant Education/Training
Relevant academic or professional qualifications or equivalent experience/skills.
Experience
* Supervising, supporting, motivating, and developing staff.
* Managing financial records and systems, both manual and computerized.
* Compiling budgetary information for reports and statistics.
* Using and developing IT applications and systems.
* Working effectively with diverse communities, partners, and agencies.
* Delivering customer-focused services.
