Job Description


Location: Carolinas

Info:

* Work hours of Requested Position: 7/12s (Typical plan is to work 13 days on and 1 day off.)
* Will business expenses be covered? Yes, only Initial Mobilization and Demobilization Mileage.
* Education Requirement: 15+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
* Per Diem? Yes, to be determined per day when working. If working 6 days, the 7th day is included.
* Will the contingent worker be required to drive a vehicle? Yes
* Will the contingent worker be required to drive a Duke Energy vehicle? Yes
* If yes, please specify: UTV
* Percentage of time driving the vehicle? 10%
* Will the vehicle be driven both onsite and offsite? No
* Supporting Location: NC (to be determined)


Description:

Participate as a project team member providing primary construction oversight of installation contractors. Responsibilities include:

* Review project scope, specifications, and contracts to understand the project before installation.
* Participate in project planning meetings and provide input on constructability.
* Support kick-off, pre-outage planning, installation, and outage meetings with project status updates.
* Ensure all permits and notifications are in place prior to construction.
* Verify contractor safety, equipment, and training compliance.
* Collaborate on schedule development and understand execution plans.
* Act as the primary site contact for the installation contractor.
* Perform field observations to ensure successful installation.
* Coordinate safety measures, including LOTO procedures.
* Review contractor time sheets and enforce contract and site security requirements.
* Monitor compliance with safety, environmental, and policy standards.
* Manage critical lifts and communicate plans to station personnel.
* Oversee QC programs, enforce standards, and participate in meetings with station management.
* Provide daily project updates, implement emergency plans, and report incidents.
* Assist with punch-list development and ensure completion.
* Maintain accurate drawings and lessons learned documentation.
* Participate in post-project debriefs.


Education Requirements:

* Associate's degree
* Bachelor's Degree
* High School Diploma
* Master's Degree


Driving Requirements:

* Standard-sized vehicle? Yes
* Valid Driver's license? Yes


Physical Labor Requirements:

* Climbing 6–12-foot ladders: Yes
* Lifting up to 50 pounds: Yes
* Face shield, Fire Retardant Equipment, Hard Hat, Safety Gloves, Steel Toe Shoes required

Additional notes: Mobility classification is onsite teammates; NERC CIP and nuclear access are not required.
