12-Month Work Placement - Civil Engineer, London

Our Intern & Placement programme is designed to give you hands-on insight into our work and help develop skills within your chosen field. Supported by training, the programme is based on Arcadis core values, providing both technical training and support for personal and professional development. You will be exposed to real projects and clients, gaining a range of experiences over 10-12 weeks or a 12-month placement.
Our civil engineering community works across sectors including highways, rail, energy, and water management. Our projects vary in scale and scope:
* Highways engineer: Contributes to the design and development of safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems, maintaining and enhancing road infrastructure.
* Water management engineer: Works on waste and clean water infrastructure, delivering sustainable solutions that ensure resilience and quality of water supplies.
* Rail engineer: Handles all aspects of Civil Engineering for railway projects, from earthworks to drainage, using various materials to support railway infrastructure.
* Energy engineer: Supports clients in delivering new connections and grid upgrades to meet UK's Net Zero carbon reduction goals.
This programme offers opportunities to grow skills in delivering sustainable solutions, potentially involving site visits and inspections.
Roles within Highways, Water, and Energy are open to candidates with a BEng or MEng in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering. Roles within Rail require an MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Currently working towards a relevant degree (Placement & Intern only).
* Demonstrates Arcadian skills such as Resilience, Creativity, Analytical Thinking, and Teamwork.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and consult stakeholders technically.
* Willing to travel and stay away from home when required (virtual working embraced where possible).
