Our client is a leading company in the manufacturing sector, committed to excellence and innovation. They seek a highly skilled Financial Controller to join their dynamic team in Cambridge. The role is vital for ensuring financial integrity and supporting growth.
Reporting To The Head Of Finance, Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Managing the daily operations of the Finance Team.
2. Maintaining accurate financial records, including stock management and valuations.
3. Producing monthly management accounts and ensuring timely group reporting.
4. Reconciling Balance Sheet accounts monthly.
5. Keeping the Fixed Assets Register and related documentation up-to-date.
6. Ensuring compliance with statutory accounting, taxation, and legal requirements.
7. Assisting in preparing forecasts and budgets.
8. Managing relationships with external auditors.
9. Improving departmental effectiveness through objective setting and performance reviews.
10. Ensuring all government returns are filed accurately and on time.
11. Managing UK employee payroll and related returns.
12. Performing Treasury functions, including cash management and FX hedging.
13. Leading and participating in ad hoc projects as required.
Applications are invited from individuals with the following skills and experience:
1. Professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA), or strong qualified by experience.
2. Extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting at a similar level.
3. Experience in manufacturing and standard costing is highly advantageous.
4. Experience working with or in a European finance office is desirable but not essential.
5. Strong people management and communication skills.
6. Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
7. Strong team ethic and commitment to continuous improvement.
8. Advanced PC skills, particularly Microsoft Office, and extensive ERP systems knowledge.
9. Experience with SAP is a plus but not essential.

The role initially requires on-site presence for the first three months; hybrid working is available afterward. Candidates must be able to commute to Cambridge.
