The Vacancy

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our IT department as a Quality Engineer on a full time basis in either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office with occasional travel to our London and Birmingham offices.

*We are open to considering candidates on a part time or full-time basis*

What will your role look like?

As a Quality Assurance Engineer specialising in the Microsoft Power Platform, you’ll play a key role in strengthening the quality and resilience of our low‑code estate. You’ll support the delivery of business‑critical applications, workflows and integrations that help our colleagues work smarter and more efficiently.

You’ll be a valued member of our Digital Workplace Team, working closely across the wider Core IT community and engaging with stakeholders across the firm. Together, you’ll help evolve how we use collaboration and productivity tools and ensure our Power Platform solutions are reliable, secure and fit for purpose.

In this role, you’ll be central to delivering high‑quality Power Platform support and development projects. You’ll collaborate with Power Platform specialists, engineers, our Delivery Lead and our Business Analyst to ensure every change we deploy meets the highest standards.

Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:

1. Owning the end‑to‑end test process for Power Platform solutions, including functional, regression and integration testing
2. Designing structured test plans, producing test summary reports, acceptance criteria and reusable test suites
3. Ensuring all changes across apps, flows and components undergo robust validation
4. Supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) activity
5. Executing integration tests across Dataverse, SharePoint, M365 and Azure services
6. Maintaining a regression library and contributing to automation
7. Providing quality oversight for citizen developer submissions
8. Supporting structured defect management and ensuring issues are clearly documented and resolved

To enjoy and succeed in this role, you will have:

9. Practical experience in software testing, ideally within the Microsoft Power Platform
10. Strong test design capability and a methodical approach
11. Knowledge of DevOps tooling, ideally Azure DevOps
12. Familiarity with Dataverse concepts and environments
13. Experience working within Agile and DevOps teams
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
15. The ability to work across multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

It would be great if you also have:

16. Exposure to test automation
17. An understanding of non‑functional test activities
18. Awareness of Power Platform governance frameworks

We would also encourage applications from candidates who perhaps do not possess all the attributes and experience listed above but are competent with the majority and would be able to quickly develop the additional skills and experience required in post with our full support. We would also love to hear about other knowledge and experience you may have that is not listed but could be of interest.

In addition to a competitive salary and access to our profit share scheme, we offer:

19. A flexible selection of employee benefits, so you can choose a package that best matches your lifestyle and needs.
20. A collaborative and encouraging work environment where your thinking and ideas are encouraged.
21. On site mental health and wellbeing assistance.
22. A commitment to helping you develop both personally and professionally, with mentoring opportunities and access to our award-winning learning portal, Aspire.
23. Regular social activities, in addition to three days paid volunteering leave each year and a day’s leave to celebrate your birthday.
24. Hybrid working so you can enjoy the positive wellbeing of working from home as well as the benefits of meeting colleagues in our sociable, modern office environments – with the expectation of two ‘in-office’ days per week.
25. A flexible working window, allowing colleagues the freedom to work flexibly between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

Please note, we recruit on a rolling basis to early applications are recommended to avoid disappointment.
